Responses from the CW DC Universe: Vol. 2

Yesterday, I looked at how Black cast members from the Arrowverse shows I watch (The Flash, Supergirl, Black Lightning, and Batwoman) have been speaking out about police brutality in the last week, getting real about their grief and anger. A lot of their cast members have been standing beside them, retweeting and adding their own voices in support, so I wanted to highlight them as well.

Before that, though, I missed Meagan Tandy (Sophie on Batwoman) yesterday. I didn't mean to, but it was a major oversight. While I'll go back and edit yesterday's post, I'm including her here too to acknowledge my earlier omission. She's been speaking out and sharing important posts; here she is cautioning people not to let anyone change the narrative on the protests:

Stay on topic.There are people out there whose purpose is to change the narrative to be about “looting and vandalism” as a way to distract you and to paint the whole protest in a negative light. Do not be fooled.

Nicole Kang (Mary on Batwoman) posted this statement about how the Asian American community's "model minority" status has always been a tool used by white supremacy against Black people, and she calls for AAPIs to stand against it now:

In addition to retweeting posts about George Floyd's murder and the protests, Nicole Maines (Nia on Supergirl) has also been speaking up about violence suffered by Black trans folks, including Tony McDade and Iyanna Dior. I've also seen retweets from Chyler Leigh (Alex on Supergirl.) I'm grateful that the Arrowverse includes so many actors, both Black and those of other races, who take their duties as superheroes seriously.
